Presentation topics include:

Diet Myths and Nutrition Facts – There is an endless source of nutrition information, from marketing on food products, advertisements in magazines, articles on the internet. However, you may not have asked yourself whether the information you’re reading and accepting is evidence-based. Could it be that what you’re reading has instead been tailored to entice consumers and maximize sales? Is it actually correct, and does it provide you with the promised health benefits? Jessica will discuss with you the many popular and current nutritional myths whilst displacing them with a wealth of information grounded in the latest research. This is a liberating talk, as you can begin to relinquish myths that may have weighed you down in the past, and begin a journey towards a healthy relationship with food and your body.

Intuitive Eating – Are you ready to give up dieting but you’re not sure what ought to replace it? Intuitive eating is a sustainable and evidence-based approach that enables you to let go of the dieting principles and form a new and healthy relationship with food and your body. This talk will unpack the 10 principles of intuitive eating and provide you with strategies to help you implement this particular approach. It will help you re-connect with your hunger and fullness, to honor your body, to let go of dieting mindsets, to discover satisfaction with food, to practice exercise with kindness and much more.

Food and Mood – The food we eat impacts our mood. And yet, our mood can also shape our food choices and the way we eat. Exploring this topic will help you draw out some personal insights regarding the connections between your food choices and mood patterns, what drives those choices, and the impact your mood is having on how you eat. In addition, Jessica will provide evidence-based nutrition advice on how your food choices can improve your mood, whilst equipping you with skills such as mindful eating to help you manage your food intake when struggling with your mood.

How do we raise a healthy eater? This question weighs heavily on many parents’ minds. In this talk Jessica will equip parents with evidence-based nutrition information, combined with practical, easy-to-understand strategies they can implement at home. Jessica will define what it means to be a healthy eater; the importance of nutrition for growth and development; what foods will support your child’s learning at school (including lunchbox ideas!); how to approach so-called ‘sometimes’ food; how to teach your children about their appetite; discuss practical strategies that you can easily implement at home to help your children develop a healthy relationship with food and their body; and touch on positive body image talk.
